Report: Cristiano Ronaldo signs $207 million a year contract in Saudi Arabia

Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a $207 million-a-year contract with Al Nassr FC, which plays in Saudi Arabia’s top flight, according to Spanish daily Marca.

That’s right, $207 million a year.

Ronaldo, 37, is a free agent after agreeing to terminate his contract with Manchester United and it is believed that he may move elsewhere in Europe to try to score more goals in the UEFA Champions League.

But according to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo will join Al Nassr and help promote the sport in Saudi Arabia. According to the report, sources close to Ronaldo say that the deal has not been signed and that he is fully focused on leading Portugal to World Cup glory.

Further details said it was a two-and-a-half-year deal, for which Ronaldo would earn $517 million from his 30-month stay in Saudi Arabia. That’s $17.2 million a month. Fabrizio Romano has more details, adding that the deal is highly dependent on cash from endorsement deals.

Is now the right time for Ronaldo to take the plunge?

probably. Even if he doesn’t want to admit it (and he doesn’t), his powers at the top echelon of European football are waning. And that’s fine. Father’s time reaches us all.

At this point in his career, Ronaldo’s move to Saudi Arabia or Major League Soccer makes a lot of sense.

In the past, he had been targeted to move up to the Saudi Arabian top flight, but it seemed too soon as he scored 24 goals for Manchester United last season and showed that he can deliver spectacular moments at the highest level. this season? Not much.

With Lionel Messi linked with a major move to Inter Miami in MLS and Ronaldo potentially heading to Saudi Arabia, the spectacle will see two of the greatest players of all time take their talents to new parts of the world.

Al Nasr featured the likes of David Ospina, Vincent Aboubakar, PT Martínez and Luiz Gustavo and is one of the most successful teams in Saudi Arabia, having won the national title nine times.
